I am Robert Mondell.
My passion for the guitar goes back to my parents, for when I turned 9 years old they bought me a Teisco Delray with a sunburst body and flower pick guard. What followed was an immersion into sounds by Jimi Hendrix, the Beatles and the Stones with plenty of Led Zeppelin thrown in.
Was I trying to emulate a sound or create my own, I don’t know, but this led me to the basement workshop where I started making my own guitars. This is how I created the tone.
How do you select a wood for tone? —You tap it. The right wood will give back its unique vibration.
The electronics and hardware are carefully sourced and selected from some of the most respected companies in music or built in house by myself.
